Upper Thames and Reading Boats
Caversham Lady
This is Caversham Lady, and she is a pioneer of boat design.
Built in 1978, she revolutionized the business with her new concept.
She had one of the first galleys and barbecue decks, preparing and cooking food on board. Of course as years have gone by she has changed considerably, but the principles in which she was built still stand.
No less versatile than the Caversham Princess, she is ideal for the smaller events. There can be dancing on the enclosed upper deck, and the lower deck comprises an elegant, comfortable lounge with panoramic windows to view the scenery rolling past.
Simply, she is just a lovely lady!
Caversham Princess
Caversham Princess, as imperious as her name implies, and a splendid sight in all her majesty at night.
Like a Princess of the blood, she is tranquil and calm, tackling anything in her stride.
She was born out of the diversity that swept the passenger cruise industry in 1982, commissioned specifically by Thames Rivercruise.
Since then, she hasn't missed a beat as she gracefully accommodates anything from corporate hospitality, private parties, weddings, and a myriad of celebrations of all kinds, including buffets and meals on board, prepared in her beautifully fitted galley.
She is the biggest of the fleet, carrying 140 passengers comfortably, with the power and technology to run all the equipment you need.
This means her versatility can accommodate any type of party, bespoke for you.

Devon Belle
Hail the heroine-Devon Belle, another piece of living history.
Built in 1938, she is one of the Little Ships of Dunkirk which helped evacuate 300,000 Allied troops in 1940. She stayed with the Royal Navy, and she had a role with the Mulberry harbors, which were built on the south coast and towed to Normandy after D-Day to service the invasion. After the war, she became a pleasure cruiser in Plymouth and Dartmouth until 1999, when she came to the Thames.
Heavily refurbished, like the Princess Marina, she can carry 100 passengers, and has one of the best viewing platforms on the river.
She is very popular for those who like a little bit of history attached to their cruise. She can accomodate 50 passengers for a buffet cruise, sometimes accompanied by a jazz band.
Princess Marina
Princess Marina is a piece of living history. She was built in 1928 in Great Yarmouth and worked our of Scarborough and Bridlington in the 1930's.
After a stint of coastal defence during the Second World War, she gravitated to the Thames in the 50's, and then to Reading.
She was a bit bedraggled, so we lovingly renovated and refurbished her.
She now has the class and elegance that she deserves, equipped with sumptuous Lloyd Loom chairs, and the best soft furnishings you can find. All the fixtures and fittings are in keeping with the vessel.
Her official capacity is 80 passengers, but she can turn into a boardroom for 30, a restaurant for 34, or a buffet for 40.
She provides the perfect setting for private dining, meetings, and exclusive parties where privacy and ambiance is essential.
